RTS Agents Are AEP-Ready Agents
As AEP 2027 approaches, one of the best things agency principals can do is help their agents become Ready-to-Sell (RTS) as early as possible.
RTS status doesn't automatically create sales, but it removes the barriers that can prevent agents from selling. Once agents complete their onboarding, certifications, and carrier requirements, they can focus on marketing themselves, meeting with prospects, and writing business. Principal involvement can help agents navigate the process more effectively.
How Principals Can Help
• Check in regularly. A quick weekly or bi-weekly conversation can help agents stay motivated and address questions before they become roadblocks.
• Review onboarding communications. Principals are copied on onboarding emails so they can stay informed and better support their downline.
• Help agents prioritize. New agents often receive a lot of information at once. Encourage them to focus on one carrier or task at a time, and make sure they complete each step of the onboarding process before moving on.
• Stay engaged. Agents who have support and accountability are often better equipped to complete the RTS process successfully.
Why It Matters
Helping agents become RTS isn't just about completing requirements. The sooner agents are RTS, the sooner they can focus on growing their business and serving clients. More RTS agents means more agents positioned to write compliant business during AEP, creating greater opportunities for production and revenue across your agency.
A little involvement today can help set your agents and your agency up for a stronger AEP tomorrow.
