Humana Hierarchy Freeze Update: Key Dates to Know
Humana has announced an upcoming hierarchy freeze open window, giving agents and agencies a limited opportunity to make changes before restrictions resume. Below is a summary of the critical dates and rules you should be aware of.
Open Window: May 15, 2026 – July 1, 2026
During this period, transfers and releases are permitted for both agents and agencies. This is the only window available to make hierarchy changes before the freeze resumes.
After July 1, 2026
Once the window closes, the hierarchy freeze goes back into effect. At that point, no transfers or releases will be allowed.
New Agents and Agencies (Never Contracted)
New agents and agencies may begin contracting starting May 15. Unlike existing appointments, onboarding for new contracts can continue year-round and is not restricted by the July 1 cutoff.
Existing Agents and Agencies
Movement between hierarchies is only allowed through July 1.
